Well, by now you've all more than likely heard the stories about SLIMEFEST, and figuered out for your selves that, yes it rained. Having been born and raised in the wet State of Washington makes me a seasoned veteren at being rained on. When Hoppy first organized SLIMEFEST, and gave it a date, I chuckled and said to myself, " July, outstanding weather for biking, camping, and partying". It wouldn't dare rain, earlier in the week it had been in the upper 80's and not a cloud in sight.

Since I'd been on vacation all week the plan was attend SLIMEFEST Thursday night, camp the night and depart with friends to the Cowchip Boogie, a campout and weekend party put on by the local ABATE chapter of Cowlitz County. All went well Thursday night, finally getting to meet the Netscum, and a few of the Brother Slugs. Hoppy and Patty were excellent host's, greeted us and made us feel at home from the get go. Putting face's and names followed, Snarl, Heekster, DP, Maggie and later Madman. Some good stories and a few cold brews later, it was time to fix dinner set up camp and do some some more BSing. The evening brought Snarl's confrontation with the park ranger. I'm just glad the rangers won't be issued gun's till next year, our paticular ranger needs a mental screening before somebody gives him a sixshooter.

Aside from the rain, thunder and lightening, the night was pretty peaceful, except that the camphost came by to ask us if we knew the people in site #6. We told him "Oh yeah, he's with our group, why, was there a problem? He told us that there were to be no radios after 10pm, and Snarl had gotten snippy with him when asked to turn his off. We all told him it was turned up so we could hear it at our campsite. So after having the camp rules recited to us, the host toddled off into the darkness having done his duty, and we slipped off to bed before he came back.
